What are you most looking forward to about playing at HBBF14?
We've been trying to get on this popular festival for 4 years so getting a slot is an achievement enough in itself. It's a new festival crowd for us so let's see if we can turn some heads onto our music.

We like keep things simple to let the music breathe. We do not apologise for our rawness, nor for our tenderness.

Jack and Gabriel are right up there with him, and they are the perfect springboard for Virgil to let loose. Anyone who gets Heep out of the dressing room must have something! I wish them all the luck in the world!"

Transport and Accommodation update for Halifax

On any given Bank Holiday, there is a shortage of accommodation in Hebden Bridge, especially since the Town Hall started to facilitate weddings and civil partnerships. However, this year we have taken a number of countermeasures to ensure that all those music lovers who want to attend, can do so.

One of those is arranging a dedicated transport service from outside the Travelodge in central Halifax, to the Hebden Bridge Blues Festival Main Stage, before leaving Hebden on the return leg at 0145, after the Paddy Maguire Midnight Jam Sessions.

This will allow a wide array of hotels and apartments to be used in Halifax, with a safe and secure, dedicated Blues Coach to whisk you along the 20 minute (8 mile) journey.

The bus will then leave Halifax at the following midday, to ensure you miss none of the action!

It is strongly advisable to book your seats on the tickets page as soon as you book your accommodation as places will be strictly limited and are likely to be in high demand.

The departure times will be as follows:

Friday night / Saturday morning from Hebden Bridge to Travelodge Halifax, departing at 0145

Saturday daytime from Travelodge Halifax to Hebden Bridge, departing at 1200

Saturday night / Sunday morning from Hebden Bridge to Travelodge Halifax, departing at 0145

Sunday daytime from Travelodge Halifax to Hebden Bridge, departing at 1200

Sunday night / Monday morning from Hebden Bridge to Travelodge Halifax, departing at 0145

What are you most looking forward to about playing at HBBF14?
The incredible vibe and fantastic people!

What's Behind The 2014 T-Shirt?

Every year we try to produce a distinctive T-shirt design, as each year tells its own story and has its own identity.

Although it is widely considered a marketing faux-pas, this year we have opted to change the colour scheme of our logo as a one-off, from the firey red guitar to a cool blue one. HBBF15 will see the return of the fire guitar so this shirt will be particularly collectable and, as normal, we will be doing a limited print run so as to completely run out.

Why did we make this change?

Well, 2014 will have a very distinct flavour in many ways so we wanted to produce something different to mark it out.

Amongst the most notable changes are these two:

  • This year Jason and Paddy will take a step back from hands-on running of the festival for the first time and be on a mission to see all of the bands. In their place, their partners Jenna and Kate (much more organised than the boys) will be marshalling the troops on the ground. This is likely to lead to the slickest and smoothest-running event of our history.
  • Up until now, the legendary partnership of Marcus Bonfanti and Paddy Milner have closed every Sunday night, but for HBBF14 we decided to have a special one-off Blues-Rock themed night. Opened by Aussie legend Gwyn Ashton and featuring the Mark Pontin Group, the Russ Tippins Electric Band and Northsyde, the sparks will be flying in the church!
To be guaranteed your HBBF14 shirt before they run out, (usually on the Sunday morning) the safest thing is to order it in advance from the ticket page.
